Since 1988, I have been writing and recording 50-second radio messages for broadcast on secular radio stations in Salisbury, Maryland. God has used these messages to lead people to salvation and often, to our church.
God has given me a dream of placing these messages on at least 500 radio stations. In pursuit of this goal, I have formed a corporation entitled "Faith 500". As of January 1st, 2003, "A Thought for Today" can be heard on over 130 radio stations worldwide. God has blessed our ministry greatly over the last few years and He continues to bless us as we work to reach our goal.
As Faith 500 worked toward reaching our goal, we realized we were overlooking a wonderful opportunity to allow fellow believers to use these messages to reach out to those around them. Thus, the web site athoughtfortoday.org was born.
Our goal is not to make money. We desire to obey God's command to fulfill this vision and pray that countless persons will come to know Christ and be strengthened in their faith through these messages. We offer these messages free via the internet and encourage you to send one, or many, to those you care about. To send a "Thought" to someone click the menu title "Listen to a Thought". Then follow the easy on-screen instructions.
We also offer these messages as radio spots to churches to use as a local ministry. Interested churches may use the spots at no set fee for one year. They agree to pray about the value of the messages. At the end of the year's commitment, churches simply pay whatever God tells them the spots are worth. About the Author
Dr. Warren, a native of Pensacola, Florida, earned his Ph. D. in New Testament Studies at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He and his wife, Deborah, have two children, Christopher and Elisabeth.
Dr. William Warren serves as pastor of the Allen Memorial Baptist Church in Salisbury, Maryland. Dr. Warren was led to begin creating these messages to reach the lost. Over the years the spots have been heard five times a week on several secular radio stations. God has graciously used these messages to bring numerous persons to faith in Christ.
